About the Detroit Mercury

The Detroit Mercury is a blog focusing on transportation policy and general politics in Michigan, the Midwest, and the United States.  The purpose of the ‘Mercury  is to enable readers to generate their own opinions regarding transportation policy in our country and in Michigan.  Though it generally advocates increased funding and use for rail based public transportation, the ‘Mercury realizes that all forms of transportation are integral to the efficient, effective, and environmentally friendly movement of passengers and goods.
